    It's Baby Time

A big big big congratulations to the spate of people I know having kids recently.

My friends Troy and Paula in Denver:  Congrats on Isla
My cousin-in-law's Duncan and Kate, and Bridget and Ian: Congrats on your sons!
Congrats to Ignacio and Dorothy as well.

Enjoy your little bundles, and hopefully you'll remember all the joy that they bring when they are in the middle of whatever tantrum they happen to be throwing at any given moment in time

    Again, Congratulations!

    Good News

Kara took Hannah to the doctor today to have a little look at bump near her eye. She's had it for as long as I can remember, but it's become a bit more noticeable recently.

As a parent, the leadup to that doctor's appoint is one of the worst times. You're trying to not let your mind f*** with itself, you're trying to go about your normal everyday kind of stuff, not let it run rampant through all of your waking moments. You'll mess yourself up that way and take it out on all those around you.

But always, lurking around in the dark corners somewhere, hiding in the shadows is that nervousness. That tension never really leaves.

So Kara took Hannah to the doctor, and while she has been referred to a specialist (no surprise there), the doctor is confident that there is nothing to be worried about. She's a healthy, happy little girl who will probably end up with a little character scar. We'll get confirmation of that when we go to the specialist in a couple of weeks. But my mind is much more at ease.

My day just got better and brighter.

    Woohoo!

This is probably the most I've put in this blog in a single four-week timespan.  Ever.

I'm really making an effort to make this worth somebody's while to check in here from time to time.  You may also want to check my technical blog, as I'm updating that more frequently.

I just got word that my meager contribution to a SharePoint book is getting closer to seeing the light of (publishing) day.  I only wrote one chapter out of 16 or so, but it's a start.  I'll be published.

If you're a SharePoint person, and interested in WSS, you may want to keep an eye out for this book:
Mastering Windows SharePoint Services 3.0.  My friend C.A. Callahan wrote this.  It's going to be a great book.  Doesn't release until September, but it will be well worth it.

The new gig is making me learn about all the stuff I didn't know.  I didn't really know what I didn't know, but now I have a much clearer idea of what I dont' know.

    Did that make sense?

    I've got a new gig

For the 0 readers out there who may actually look at this thing in the usually futile hope that I may have written something . . .

    I've finally written something.

I've started a new gig.  That's right, I'm no longer with Auldhouse, my employer for the last nearly 9 years.  I'm now with IGA Systems, a SharePoint and CRM consulting firm.  Working, amazingly enough, as a SharePoint consultant.

I'm really excited about the new work, looking forward to some different challenges, and there have already been some.

Anyway--just thought I'd let people know.

    Hasta
